You’ve just signed up to Airbit, you’ve got beats the world needs to hear and you’re staring at your Dashboard thinking “Where do I start”? Well, strap yourself in, you’re about to find out.
Setting up Your Account
There are a few basic thing you’ll want to do to get your account up and running. These include setting up & linking your Paypal account (very important to get this right), getting to know your store and customising it, uploading some beats (believe it or not), uploading an avatar/logo, etc. Throughout this post we’ll look at these and more in more depth, but for a quick start guide to get the basics in the place, check out this video.
A Quick Word on Your Subscription
Airbit memberships come in three tiers – Free, Gold & Platinum – each offering more benefits than the last. Once you’re ready to become a paying member there are two ways you can pay – monthly or in bulk, which come at a discounted rate because we’re kind. This can be managed from your Dashboard and you can upgrade and downgrade at will.
Now that that’s out the way, on to the good stuff..
Accepting Payments with Paypal & Stripe
Paypal is the most popular and trusted payment merchant known to man. It gives customers confidence in you as a seller – knowing their card/bank details won’t end up on the dark web, being used by god-knows-who to buy god-knows-what. It’s also extremely easy for you as a seller to keep track of sales and view important information
You’ll notice in this image that the Order Number is automatically added so you can find it easily in your Dashboard if needed. You’ll also notice that Paypal takes a fee – this will be a different amount depending how much the total amount is, so keep that in mind.

Paypal is not the only option for accepting payment. Those of you who want to accept debit/credit cards as well – and I recommend you do because, well, why wouldn’t you? That’s potential sales out the window if you don’t – you can do so via Stripe. Stripe is super easy to setup, simply head to Settings > Selling Preferences, click the Connect Stripe button and fill out some details. And voila! you can now accept debit/credit card payments.
It’s up to you how you accept payments, you can use either one of these, or both simultaneously!
Once you’ve got everything in place I recommend you purchase a beat from yourself to verify everything is working, and contact us if you have any issues. (For the test purchases, set your price to $0.01 to avoid paying Paypal charges).
An In-Depth Look At The Stores
On signup each member is automatically given a profile page with a store, which is automatically populated with your beats when you upload them. And once you’ve uploaded some beats and are ready to accept payment, the next step will be customising your store.
This is done by heading to Dashboard > Music Stores > HTML5 and selecting your configuration from the drop-down menu (or creating a new one for external sites). As soon as you have a configuration selected you will see customisation options appear before you.
You can create an unlimited number of new stores to be embedded on external sites, such as your personal website. If you’re creating your website with a website builder such as WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, etc. this will require you to copy and paste your stores HTML code on to your site for it to be displayed. But don’t panic at the mention of code! It really is a copy & paste job, and you can find a more detailed guide to embedding your store here.
If you use Bandzoogle however, all you need to do is enter your username and as if by magic, your store will automatically be embedded on your Bandzoogle webpage.

The great thing about these stores is that once they’re embedded, any changes you want to make you do right from your Dashboard by editing the configuration and the changes will take effect automatically in your store! No need to copy and paste a new code, just save the changes and you’re done.
So let’s take a closer look at the store:
- If not logged in already, customers can log in here. This panel is also where customers add a coupon, view your license terms and view their order history
- This is where your tabs (see Tabs & Collections below) are displayed, so customers can cycle through your various playlists, retail collections and kits (did i mention you can sell sound kits through your store?)
- This will display your number of beats and plays. You can hide the play count in your configuration settings
- This will show the total amount due (it will show the discounted price if discounts are applied). You can also view your cart here
- Clicking this menu icon allows the customer to sort & filter your beats by Genre, Mood, Tags, Licenses, Date Added
- This shows each beat you’ve added to your cart, along with the licenses chosen and any discounts applied
- The main attraction of your store – the beats. Beats are listed here, and clicking the plus (+) button will open up license options so they can be added to the cart
- These are buying instructions for your customers
Your store may look slightly different depending on what device it’s being viewed on and what dimensions you choose
Tabs & Collections
As you saw above, it is possible to separate your beats into different tabs. How you separate them is up to you – genres, license type, mood, etc. and is a great way to streamline the shopping experience for your customers.
But tabs can be used for so much more. You can assign a tab to your sound kits and sell both beats and kits from the same store. If you’re an artists as well as a producer, or simply want to promote/sell other artists’ work through your existing store this can also be done by displaying retail collections in a tab. And of course, you don’t have to do this from the same store. If you want, you can create multiple stores, with each one displaying a different collection! It’s really quick and easy to do, and we’ve put together a handy step-by-step guide to show you how it’s done. Take a look here.
Make Your Store Responsive!
This is a must, given that most of your traffic will come from mobiles. I can all but guarantee you if your store and website are not responsive, visitors will leave your site without so much as playing a beat. Why would they waste their time on an awkward to use site when they can go to someone else’s website and buy beats stress free?
Making your store responsive takes only one click – when in Dashboard > Music Stores > HTML5, after creating a new configuration you’ll see the dimensions below your store. Simply click the Responsive option and your store will now resize for different sized screens. That’s it – that’s the whole process!
One thing to note is that changing the dimensions – including making it responsive – is the only thing that won’t update automatically on your site. So if you forgot to choose this option before embedding your store, you will need to re-embed your code after changing this.

Share Your Cart
Share. Your. Cart. Just do it. It will increase your conversions by an unbelievable amount. You’ve probably had potential customers enquire about your beats through Youtube, Soundcloud, email, etc. (and if you haven’t yet, you will), you reply to them with a link to your store, or your prices, and you never hear from them again. Sharing your cart eradicates this, as you take your customers directly from enquiry to purchase, with no steps in between!
So here’s how it works:
A customer contacts you about a beat they like, expressing an interest. Rather than send them to your store saying “hey you can buy it here”, or “send me $X and I’ll email the beat”, you instead head to your store yourself, add that beat to your cart, open the cart and click the Share Cart button in the bottom left. You’ll then be presented with this screen:
Now if you share this link, clicking on it will take the customer to your store with the beat already in the cart, so all they have to do is checkout! And you can go one step further and click the Direct To checkout box to bypass your store entirely and send them straight to the checkout screen, so all they have to do is enter payment details! It couldn’t get any easier than that now, could it?
